2016 Chicago's Failure?? or The Bully Getting punched in the mouth??

Well here we are, Friday October 2, 2009 and the announcement came down from the IOC that Chicago, who was reported as a front runner was eliminated in the first round of voting for the right to host the 2016 Olympics. I'm now listening to and reading post of all the pundits and the uneducated as they give their reasoning or point the finger as to why Chicago lost its 2016 bid.

Lets see the one I'm hearing the most is because of the recent Video of the young honor student http://www.suntimes.com/news/24-7/1790639,teen-mob-action-killed-family-092509.article being killed in a vicious attack. The other one is that North America has had too many games in the past. Oh and for you Fox news fans it was the world rejecting President Obama and it was his fault.
(that last one cracks me up)

So here is what I believe happen, and because I am who I am and I have no intentions of EVER running for any public office I can type and publish this without any hesitation or regret.

This was the rest of the world Punching the Bully in mouth. This was not about Chicago this was more about the USA then it was about Chi-city. More people get killed and disappear in RIO every day then those that get killed in Chicago in a year. So for those of you thinking that was the reason sorry!! Do some reading on the crime rate for Brazil and Rio. http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1072.html
It wouldn't have mattered if the city was Dallas TX where J. Jones just built 1.5 billion stadium, we (USA)still would have lost because of or reputation around the globe.

I know my republican friends will not like this but this wont be the first time they hear this from me. A lot of countries around the world DON'T LIKE US, and don't be fooled by this "they hate our freedom" crap either. We are fighting two wars on two different continents and most of the world blames us for the financial crisis.. This vote took place like the end of an episode of Survivor, where the smaller weaker members vote off the Bully/Stronger competition. Take a look at the IOC voters and look at the countries they represent and tell me they don't have an axe to grind. http://www.olympic.org/en/content/The-IOC/The-IOC-Institution1/IOC-Members-list/ You cant go around the world doing what you feel to anyone just because you claim its for freedom, and then expect the world to shine the spot light on you. This was a chance to Embarrass the USA and that's what the rest of the WORLD (IOC) did. Puppeteer Cheney and his puppet President Bush left us with the best gift of all. The stench of a bad reputation that can't be easily washed away, even by great speeches and an unclenched fist by a new President. You see the, worlds FICO score(reputation) has been damaged, and just because you start doing the right things in 2009 doesn't mean you erase the damage done from 2001-2008. It takes time to rebuild credit(reputation).

To my peeps in Chicago I know first hand what the Olympics would have meant to the city. I saw with my own eyes what ATL was like before they got the games. All they (ATL)were known for was the FreakNik and streets named Peach tree. Now ATL is one of the most popular and still growing cities in the US. Now the blame game will begin and the Fox news crazies Hannity/Beck and right wing radio/bloggers will turn this into political chatter. Check the video from eariler today. http://link.brightcove.com/services/player/bcpid1460906593?bctid=43158474001

Keep ya heads up chi-town,

Peace

Keyboard Courage!!

I'm amazed at some of the things people will write, or claim they feel strongly about. It’s not what they say, but from where they say it. Lets just take the obvious subjects politics, race, religion and sports. Since its football season and I'm an avid lover of all things NFL let’s stick to sports for this particular issue.

Mike Vick (MV7)
Now when Mike got back in the league it was like the 08 election all over again, everyone was choosing sides. People who didn’t think he deserved to play and those who felt he more than paid his price and deserved to play again. What amazes me about the whole situation was the supposed swell of outrage and anger about the Eagles giving him a chance. I'm sure you all read it... People were using any and every media, blog and communication outlet they could find to say how bad it was going to be.

They were calling into radio stations with craziness saying "I'm selling my season tickets or I’m canceling my NFL ticket (Direct TV). Then you had your real brave people saying "he should be killed like the dogs he killed" or even worse " Lock that nigger in a kennel with the dogs and have him killed"!! These blogs and chats are still on ESPN.COM right now.

The internet has really given a bunch of COWARDS (yes I said it) COWARDS a lot of Keyboard Courage.

Where are the thousands of protesters that were suppose to show up at Eagles games?? Where were the big ratings drop from everyone who said they wouldn’t watch any football after Goodell reinstated Vick? Where was the mass cancelation of the NFL ticket subscribers on Direct TV? I will tell you where they were… At home sitting behind their keyboard because they are too afraid to follow through on idle internet/boycott threats. Some might say hey D you typing now right now what’s the difference? Simple I will say to anyone on the street in public or anywhere how I feel about whatever if I’m asked or if I have an opinion. I won’t just hide behind my keyboard in the safety of my home behind my locked doors..

I know it’s the age of instant media and everyone is a reporter/commentator now, but I will give the guys on TV and Radio a little credit. They will say what they feel on air regardless of how silly they sound. Those of you who pop in and out chat rooms call someone a nigger real quick and hide you all are COWARDS.. My old pastor used a saying “Don’t throw a rock and hide your hand” If you say something, put your name on it and stand by what you said. Don't do it in the secret on the internet, but say it to your friends, family and co-workers (if you have any). I’m not saying go to work and get fired, but if you feel a certain way about something and someone ask you your opinion, be honest.. I dare ya!!!! Hahahhaa

Peace
